Los grandes bloques de sillar (ceniza volcánica convertida en piedra) con los que se levantan muchos de sus emblemáticos edificios, le dan a Arequipa un aspecto peculiar y le han ganado el apelativo de “Ciudad Blanca”.

Además de su fantástica arquitectura, esta ciudad vigilada por imponentes volcanes es conocida por su deliciosa gastronomía. Conoce esta urbe en constante crecimiento y prueba algunos de los platos más sabrosos y singulares del Perú.

DÍA 1: LIMA – AREQUIPA

A tu llegada a Arequipa tendrás asistencia en el aeropuerto y te trasladaremos al hotel seleccionado. Por la tarde visitaremos la ciudad, admiraremos su hermosa Plaza de Armas y luego, el famoso Convento de Santa Catalina. Este precioso convento fue fundado en 1580 y es similar a una pequeña ciudad colonial, con pequeñas casas hechas para las monjas y sus sirvientas, calles estrechas, patios, cocina, lavandería y más. Seguiremos con una visita a la Compañía de Jesús, una joya del arte barroco y salvaguarda de bellas pinturas, donde resalta la sacristía decorada con murales que representan la selva y los claustros de su antiguo seminario. Para terminar, visitaremos los distritos residenciales de Yanahuara y Chilina, desde donde podremos admirar la gran campiña arequipeña y tener una hermosa vista del Misti, el imponente volcán que parece resguardar la ciudad. DÍA 2: AREQUIPA

Este día recorreremos los alrededores de Arequipa y su encantadora campiña. Llegaremos hasta Sabandía para visitar el molino de harina que data de 1621 y que luego de su restauración – hace ya algunas décadas – sigue funcionando impulsado por una caída de agua próxima. Continuaremos nuestro camino por el campo arequipeño hasta llegar a la Mansión del Fundador, antigua hacienda de Don Manuel García de Carbajal, fundador de la ciudad. Esta bella construcción posee una capilla, un patio central y hermosos salones en perfecto estado de conservación. Noche de alojamiento en Arequipa.

DÍA 3: AREQUIPA – LIMA

A hora programada te trasladaremos al aeropuerto para abordar el vuelo a tu siguiente destino.

Arequipa is called the “White City” because of its white buildings built with “sillar” (petrified volcanic ash) back in the nineteenth century.

Besides its fantastic architecture, this city surrounded by magnificent volcanoes is famous for its tasty cuisine. Discover this ever-growing city and try some of the most delicious and unique dishes of Peru.

DAY 1: LIMA / AREQUIPA

Upon arriving in Arequipa, we will assist you and transfer you to the selected hotel. In the afternoon we will begin our city tour, admiring the beautiful Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and then, the celebrated Santa Catalina’s Convent. This beautiful convent was founded in 1580 and is similar to a small colonial village, with small houses built for the nuns and their maids, cloisters, plazas, narrow streets, kitchens, laundry and more. We will continue with a visit to the Compañía de Jesús Church, a Jesuit church that is a jewel of baroque art and home to magnificent paintings. The ancient vestry is particularly beautiful with its cupola and walls covered in murals representing the jungle. Afterwards, we will visit the residential districts of Yanahuara and Chilina, where we will have a magnificent view of Arequipa’s countryside and the Misti, the stunning volcano that seems to be guarding the city. Overnight in Arequipa.

DAY 2: AREQUIPA

Today we will tour the beautiful countryside of Arequipa. We will head for Sabandía to visit the old flourmill from 1621. After its restoration a few decades ago the mill kept working powered by a neighbouring waterfall. We will continue our trip through the countryside for a visit to the «Mansion del Fundador», the old hacienda of Manuel García de Carbajal, founder of the city. This beautiful construction has a chapel, a central patio and lovely rooms and halls perfectly preserved. Overnight in Arequipa.

DAY 3: AREQUIPA / LIMA

At scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take the flight to your next destination.
