At around 12:30 / 13:00 hours, we will pick you up from the hotel to start with the tour.

QORIKANCHA + INCA STREETS AND TEMPLES + THE CATHEDRAL

We will begin our journey at Qorikancha, also known as the Temple of Gold, one of the main religious centres of the Incas; on top of its foundations the Spaniards built the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo. Then, we will head for the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and the beautiful Cathedral to admire its architecture and colonial paintings.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES NEARBY

Afterwards, we will go by bus to some archaeological sites near the city. We will stop at the natural lookout of Pukamoqo (Red Hill) for a stunning panoramic view of the city. We will continue to Sacsayhuaman, an impressive Incan fortress with monoliths of many metres high, a sample of the most amazing building techniques.

We will carry on to visit Tambomachay and its impeccable hydraulic system still in use; Kenko, a ceremonial centre with carved stones; and Puca Pucara, the “red fortress”, a military complex named after the reddish colours of its stones at sunset.

At about 18:00 hours, we will back in Cusco city.
